This morning, Scott Smith, a long time Copper Peak Competitor and I met with members of the Copper Peak Ski Flying Inc Board of Directors.

Currently we have some bare spots on the hill, with very little snow at the top of the hill.

The MASTERS Circuit and Copper Peak Ski Flying Inc. agreed to postpone the Copper Peak Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb till the following weekend, Feb 21st. We will need to get a few good snowstorms between today and next Wednesday for the Hillclimb to take place on the 21st.

We do have cooler temps and snow in the forecast for the next 3 days. All we can do is hope that it bings a considerable amount of snow.

Now I understand that the following weekend may not work for some of you. The MASTERS did not cash ANY checks. I am asking that those that know they absolutely cannot compete on the 21st to please e-mail me ASAP. I will then look at what numbers we have that still want to compete and decide if we will have room to open up a few spots for those that were not selected to compete this weekend.

Those that cannot compete, I can either tear up your checks (which would be easier for me), or I can send them back to you. Just let me know.

It was Jared Wingers, Nate Warfield, University of Minnesota-Duluth, and the International Watercross Association that were going to help us with Hill Jockeys. I do not have the e-mail address of the Hill Jockeys, so please contact them to let them know. Find out if they would still be able to help on Saturday, Feb 21st, and let me know.

Same goes for the officials, let me know if you will be able to help on the 21st. We will have our Drivers meeting on Friday Night, February 20th. I have not had time to make any contacts as to where that Drivers Meeting will take place, but I will let you know.

Up until Monday, we had over 25 inches of snow on the hill. In a matter of 2 days, we lost almost all of it.

You can imagine how 'bummed' I am. I'm sure that while I was at the hill today, I have numerous messages on my answering machine. I am not going to call back the drivers that I am sending this too.

Hopefully we'll get the snow and cold weather so we can run this fantastic event on Saturday, Feb 21st! Again, let me know if you cannot compete on that date.
